Server Not Starting - Troubleshooting
Step 1: Check the Console
Open your server's control panel and check the console for error messages. Common errors include:
- Missing files or corrupted installations
- Port conflicts
- Configuration syntax errors
- Insufficient resources
Step 2: Check Resource Usage
In your NoobHost dashboard, check if your server is hitting resource limits:
- CPU Sustained 100% may cause issues
- RAM Out of memory will crash the server
- Disk Full disk prevents saves and logs
Step 3: Verify Configuration
A typo in a config file can prevent startup:
- Check for syntax errors in JSON/XML/properties files
- Revert recent config changes
- Compare with default configuration
Step 4: Reinstall
If the server files are corrupted:
- Back up your world/save data via SFTP
- Use the Reinstall option in the server settings
- Upload your save data back after reinstallation
Step 5: Contact Support
If none of the above works, open a support ticket with:
- Your server ID
- Error messages from the console
- Recent changes you made
