Terraria Server Setup Guide
Setup
- Deploy a game server and select Terraria
- Starter tier works for up to 16 players
- Choose your world size (Small, Medium, Large)
Configuration
Built-in Configuration - You set this up when you start the campaign and can edit it in the Settings tab of the game panel:
Version- Terraria server version, or latest for the newestMax Players- Maximum concurrent playersWorld Name- Name of your worldDifficulty- 0=Normal, 1=Expert, 2=Master, 3=JourneyMessage of the Day- Message shown to players who joinWorld Seed- OptionalPassword- Server password for private gamesNPC Stream- Number of NPCs to stream per update cycle
Other settings can be changed by manually editing serverconfig.txt
tModLoader
For modded Terraria:
- Select tModLoader or TShock as the server type in Startup
- Install mods via the file manager
- Players need matching mods installed on their client
World Management
- Worlds are saved automatically
- You can upload existing worlds via SFTP
- Back up your world before major changes or mod installations
Connecting
Players connect via Multiplayer → Join via IP using your server's IP address and port.
